Latin GRAMMYs Return To Miami For 25th Anniversary Celebration

Following

The Latin Recording Academy revealed today that it is bringing the annual Latin Grammy Awards back to Miami, where the show was first held in 2000 and where the academy is still headquartered, marking its landmark 25th anniversary.

“Miami has evolved to become the epicenter of Latin entertainment," said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, in making the announcement. "Since our first awards presentation in the year 2000, the Latin GRAMMYs have provided an international spotlight for Latin music second to none and provided iconic performances that have become part of global music and pop culture history."

Including the inaugural awards celebration, this will be the fourth time the Latin GRAMMYs will be hosted in Miami, following previous events in 2003 and 2020, when the show was held without a live audience due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The milestone awards show comes after the Latin Grammys broke tradition last year by leaving the U.S. for the first time. The 2023 ceremony was held in Sevilla, Spain, produced in collaboration with Spain's RTVE network, as the Latin Recording Academy aimed to reflect Latin music's global popularity.

New categories like Best Portuguese Language Urban Performance were also introduced in 2023 to recognize music from Brazil and Portugal as the genre continues expanding internationally with global Latin hitmakers.

This year's three-hour telecast will again be produced by TelevisaUnivision and broadcast live on Univision. It will also be available on sister cable network Galavisión, and streamer ViX.

"As the Home of Latin Music, we're excited to deliver another unforgettable night celebrating excellence in music for Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide," said Ignacio Meyer, President of Univision Television Networks Group.

Leading up to the 2024 telecast, Latin Grammy Week events will take place across Miami-Dade County, including the Leading Ladies of Entertainment, the Best New Artist Showcase, and the Person of the Year gala.

Nominations will be announced September 17.

The 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place on November 14, 2024 at the Kaseya Center starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT, preceded by a one-hour pre-show.
