OAKLAND — An East Oakland shooting Friday afternoon left two men dead, authorities said. One man is believed to be 18 and the other 19, authorities said. Their names have not yet been released.
Police were trying to confirm if the men knew each other.
The shooting was reported about 12:48 p.m., Friday in the 1300 block of 99th Avenue.
The 18-year-old man was found wounded and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police said they later found out the other shot man had been driven from the scene by another person to a hospital in another city where he was pronounced deceased.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.
No arrests have been announced.
The killings are the 23rd and 24th homicides investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 27 homicides in the city.
