A 15-year-old boy was allegedly behind the wheel of the stolen Lexus that led police on a wild chase through several MetroWest towns and ended in a spinout crash Monday.

The Lawrence teen, who was released to his mother following his arrest and ahead of arraignment, faces the following charges: failure to stop for police, speeding, leaving the scene of property damage, a breakdown lane violation, a marked lane violation, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to statements from Massachusetts State Police.

Police said the teen and two others stole the vehicle from Peabody and evaded authorities in the Natick area and several other MetroWest towns. Before police caught up with the vehicle, it allegedly crashed into two other vehicles in Marlborough.

Following the pursuit through several communities, the vehicle eventually crashed into another vehicle on Route 290 west in Northborough after hitting stop sticks that troopers had set up. The two passengers in the stolen Lexus were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

There were no injuries reported by the occupants of the other vehicle.

One of the passengers in the Lexus, 20-year-old Fitchburg resident Kyan Perez, now faces charges for receiving a stolen motor vehicle, as well as providing a false name to police.

At his arraignment in Clinton District Court on Wednesday, Perez pleaded not guilty to the charges. A judge initially ordered him held on $5,000 cash bail but revoked it due to another charge of receiving a stolen motor vehicle in Lowell District Court.

Beverly police also plans to charge Perez with two counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, and receiving stolen property (credit card) for separate incidents in its city on April 17 and April 21.
