Jimmy Butler was out injured for the Miami Heat's 111-101 win over the Boston Celtics in the 2024 NBA playoffs on Wednesday night, but that didn't remove any of his personal satisfaction from the victory.

The Heat star trolled Jaylen Brown and the Celtics with a post on Instagram:

The quote from that photo was a common refrain from Celtics players after they dropped the first three games of the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals. They warned Miami they only needed one win to start turning the tide in the series.

Those comments were almost prophetic after Boston reeled off three straight victories before running out of gas in Game 7.

Although Miami wasn't facing a similarly daunting road entering Wednesday night, plenty of people were already writing the Heat off. They lost Game 1 by 20 points and are without the services of their best player.

By taking Game 2, they may have flipped this matchup on its head because of how the result reinforced the established narratives. Miami is a team that consistently rises to the occasion and plays its best with its back against the wall. Boston, on the other hand, finds a way to come up short on the biggest stages.

Are the Heat still underdogs in the first round? Yes. Are you nonetheless starting to believe they can actually upset the Celtics again? Also yes.
