Phil Mickelson smokes 300-yard driver off the deck at LIV Singapore, is still hitting bombs at 53

Phil Mickelson turned pro in 1992. Let that sink in for a minute. Nirvana was a new band. George Bush (senior!) was president. The Dallas Cowboys were winning Super Bowls. It was a very different world, both on and off the golf course.

Mickelson has experienced a lot of incredible highs and low lows since then, carving out one of the most legendary careers in golf history in the process. But he's 53 now and admitted this week that his time as a pro is nearing its end. “Lefty” still has some juice left in the fridge, however, and he proved it at LIV Singapore on Friday, uncorking this ridiculous 300-yard driver off the deck on the par-5 18th hole. Watch it and weep, kiddos.

There’s not too many 53-year-olds on planet, let alone playing professionally, who have the cojones or the cartilage to hit that shot, but that’s what makes Phil, well, Phil.

Mickelson hasn’t exactly set LIV on fire since helping to jumpstart the fledging league back in 2021. He was 34th in the individual standings heading into LIV Singapore, and despite this highlight-reel shot, finished his opening round one over par, good for T41 out of 54 players. But as long as Phil is still hitting bombs like this, golf fans will be more than happy to have him around.
