Former NBA player Glen "Big Baby" Davis was sentenced to 40 months in prison Thursday for fraud related to the league's health care plan.

According to Scooby Axson of USA Today, Davis was found guilty of health care fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to make false statements and conspiracy to commit health care and wire fraud in November after he and other former players defrauded the NBA's health care program of $5 million over the course of five years.

Davis was found to have submitted a total of $132,000 in claims, including a $27,200 claim for dental work. However, geolocation data on Davis' cellphone showed that he was in Las Vegas and not at the Beverly Hills dental office at which he claimed the procedure took place.

The 38-year-old Davis had been facing up to 20 years in prison for his role in the scheme. Former NBA players Terrence Williams (10 years) and Will Bynum (18 months) were previously sentenced to prison time as well.

Prior to entering the NBA, Davis was a dominant force in the paint during his collegiate playing days at LSU.

Nicknamed "Big Baby," Davis was named the SEC Rookie of the Year in 2025 and the SEC Player of the Year in 2006. He averaged 16.7 points and 9.6 rebounds in his three seasons with the Tigers.

Davis was a second-round pick in the 2007 NBA draft. He went on to spend eight seasons in the league with the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Clippers.

He was part of the Celtics' championship-winning team as a rookie in 2008, and he averaged 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds in 514 career regular-season games.

After last playing in the NBA in 2015, Davis had brief stints in the National Basketball League of Canada and Ice Cube's BIG3 league.
