Seattle-area residents may have another, albeit slighter, chance to catch a glimpse of the aurora borealis Saturday evening, the Seattle office of the National Weather Service says.

Many residents in the region got a glimpse of the lights Friday night. Matthew Cullen, an NWS Seattle meteorologist, said the conditions are favorable for seeing the northern lights, but it’s hard to guarantee early in the day.

“So certainly we’re within the area that if it does line up just right, we may be able to see something tonight,” he said. “But again, it’s kind of hour-by-hour. It tends to fluctuate quite a bit and [it’s] hard to pin down that far in advance. So even the day of you don’t really know until it gets a little bit close.”

As for the weather, Seattle is expected to see another 80-degree day on Saturday. The warmer temperature will be accompanied by sunny skies and calm winds, NWS predicts.

The warm weather will continue on Sunday with a high of 71 degrees. However, temperatures will drop into the low to mid-60s early next week.
