Bon Jovi’s ‘It's My Life' Sales Skyrocket By Nearly 500%

Following

Bon Jovi is back in the news and back on the charts thanks to a new docuseries all about the band. The rockers were profiled in Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which premiered recently on Hulu. Following that project’s debut, the group’s music is more popular than it has been in some time, and some of their most beloved tunes are selling like crazy.

Several of Bon Jovi’s biggest hits are bounding up the charts, thanks to a huge increase in sales. One of the biggest gains is connected to their early-aughts single “It’s My Life,” which is back in a major way thanks to the docuseries.

“It’s My Life” sold 1,484 copies in the past tracking week, according to Luminate. That’s not necessarily a massive sum–but it’s a sizable one for a tune that’s been out for nearly a quarter of a century.

Sales of “It’s My Life” skyrocketed from one week to the next. The frame before the docuseries arrived, the track sold just 250 copies. This week’s sum represents a 493% increase from one period to the next.

All those sales help “It’s My Life” return to a pair of Billboard charts this week. The track appears highest on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales ranking, where it lands at No. 3. That’s a new best placement for the decades-old cut.

“It’s My Life” is also back on the Rock Digital Song Sales chart, which is similar to the harder variation, though which tracks are eligible, and where they rank, can be different. Bon Jovi’s single reappears on this tally at No. 10, which marks its high point.

Several of Bon Jovi’s most popular singles are back on a number of rankings this frame, though “It’s My Life” enjoys one of the largest growths. Fellow smashes like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name” can also now be found on a handful of lists this time around, with some even reaching new peaks.
