LIVERMORE — Three adults and a teenager from Fresno were arrested on suspicion of multiple charges after a stolen-vehicle hit led police to an outlet mall parking lot over the weekend, authorities said.
In a statement Tuesday, police said officers learned around 2 p.m. Sunday that the vehicle, which had ties to a smash-and-grab burglary at a Lululemon store in Los Gatos and a strong-arm robbery at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Milpitas, appeared to be parked outside the San Francisco Premium Outlets mall.
When officers arrived at the mall’s north parking lot, they found an empty white Mercedes. Soon after, officers arrested a 24-year-old woman who approached the Mercedes, police said.
Inside the mall, an officer noticed a 16-year-old who fled when other officers approached him. After they managed to arrest the teen, a search yielded a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and a key to a gray BMW that had also been reported stolen.
When officers found and searched the BMW, they retrieved a loaded 9 mm “ghost gun” under its front seat. Both the Mercedes and BMW also had stolen property inside, police said.
Later that day, officers went to a nearby hotel and found a 32-year-old parolee at large for armed robbery and a 28-year-old man with stolen credit cards and a small amount of methamphetamine in his wallet.
All four were Fresno residents whom investigators believe are part of an organized retail theft group, police said.
The 24-year-old was later arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen car, while the 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being a minor in possession of a gun, possession of a stolen car and resisting arrest.
The 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and a stolen car, as well as his parole violation. The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of identity theft, drug possession and resisting arrest.
In their statement, Livermore police thanked Pleasanton police for assistance in the arrests. A search of county jail records Tuesday evening did not show the adult arrestees still in custody.
