College trustee sought

The San Jose-Evergreen Community College District is looking for candidates interested in serving as an interim trustee on the district’s board. The appointed trustee would serve until the regular board election on Nov. 8.

Applicants must reside within Trustee Area 3, which covers South San Jose. Applications are due no later than noon on June 9. The board will interview candidates on June 21 and anticipates making the provisional appointment on June 21.

WILLOW GLEN>>The San Jose branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is hosting a May 21 Zoom presentation by Barbara Goldstein of the Womanhood Project, started in 2018 as part of the runup to the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, which gave women the right to vote. ROSE GARDEN>>As part of the Bay Area’s annual Bike to Work/Wherever Days, Community Cycles of California is hosting an energizer station on Friday, May 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at its shop at 35 Wilson Ave. Cyclists can stop for free snacks and water, put air in their tires or fix a flat, and spin a prize wheel.
