A 15-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a car early Saturday in Suisun City, police said. The driver fled the scene.
The Solano County coroner on Monday identified the victim as James Rabara Jr.
In a text message to The Reporter, Fairfield-Suisun Unified Superintendent Kris Corey confirmed the boy was a student at Armijo High School, in Fairfield.
A Suisun City Police Department social media post indicated that at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday, dispatchers received a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at westbound Highway 12 and Emperor Drive.
The speed limit is 50 mph on the four-lane stretch of Highway 12.
