THINKING PINK

Lizzo's Pink Hair Streaks Are Her Best Tour Look Yet

Leave it to Lizzo to kick off her biggest tour ever with a hair look to match. The musician has just embarked on her Special tour and hit the stage at Madison Square Garden in New York City with show-stopping pink highlights.

If there's one thing to know about Lizzo, it's that she loves a pink hair moment. We've seen the star rock a rosy color many times, including her pink heart-shaped buns for Valentine's Day and a hot pink ombre color that brought the heat this summer. The sweet yet impactful color matches Lizzo's optimistic, bubbly energy perfectly, which is why it's no surprise that she chose the hue when contemplating her opening night look.

For the New York City installment of the tour, Lizzo stepped out in waist-length mermaid waves with bright streaks of fuschia pink, plus matching pink and purple eye shadow. Her middle-parted hair was styled in bold bends as though it had been styled by a three-barrel waver tool, and the ribbons of pink added a pop that sparkled onstage.

Also sparkling? Lizzo's neon lemon-yellow illusion catsuit, complete with glittering rhinestones across the arms, legs, and bodice. As for her makeup, Lizzo went for the glamour with a deep purple smoky eye with a hint of magenta to match the pink highlights, plus blush in a similar shade. A long neutral pink manicure finished off the statement-making style.

Will the musician stick with the pink highlights for the rest of her Special tour? Given her love of changing up her coiffure, it seems unlikely — which honestly makes us all the more excited for subsequent tour stops. (It is worth noting that she wore a similar hairstyle sans pink highlights for the first show in Florida on September 23, including a blue bodysuit instead of yellow.) We'd love to see the return of the butt-length silver wig, pink bouffant, or the voluminous ponytail, though the pink streaks are so sweet we also wouldn't mind if she kept them around forever.
