DPSRU organises 'Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda' to promote Ayurveda
NEW DELHI: Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) is organizing a week-long programme “Hardin Harghar Ayurveda” to promote Ayurveda, a field that is now recognized as a wholesome redressal of emerging health problems. With the mission of "Health for All", there is an increasing need to focus on the preventive, rehabilitative and curative aspects of disease management.
This series of events, organized by DPSR University, includes the contribution of Ayurveda in dealing with the management of chronic lifestyle-related diseases and non-communicable diseases, with a special focus on the elderly.

In the coming week, DPSRU will distribute Ayurvedic medicinal plants and free Ayurvedic medicines to senior citizens, organize rallies for awareness of Ayurveda, make a visit to the old age home, and hear lectures from some of the experts from the industry, academia and government.
The inauguration was done by the Vice Chancellor Prof R. K. Goyal along with the chief guest Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Acharya Director General, Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, New Delhi, Special Guest of the event Prof.(Dr.) P.K. Prajapati Director, PCIM & H and Head, Department of RS & BK, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi and BOG Member Dr Arun Kumar Agarwal, former dean, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and Ms Shakuntala Goyal.
The objective of this event was to make the student and community learn about Ayurveda and especially for old age people. Prof.(Dr.) P.K. Prajapati delivered a keynote address and share with everyone the aim of Ayurveda and its branches in which he emphasised on Jara Chikitsa, which is one of the branches of Ashtanga Ayurveda. Prof. Prajapati suggested how to delay or prevents various disorder associated with age and their treatment also. Prof. (Dr.) Rabinarayan Acharya explained Ayurveda and treatment related to it on different body systems. He also highlighted the scope of Pharma students in Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamics studies of Ayurvedic formulations.
The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp ceremony by all the dignitaries. The programme was continued by Danvantari Vandana and followed by the university Kula-Geet.
