All-Electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore Focuses on Power, Not Range
The fully electric Folgore's is quicker than the sporty Trofeo variant, but this focus on performance may come at the cost of range.
Alongside the Modena and Trofeo variants, Maserati debuted what will be its first fully electric model: the GranTurismo Folgore.
The Folgore features three 300-kW electric motors -- on shared by the front wheels and two on the rear axle that enable torque vectoring.
The electric coupe sends around 750 horsepower and 996 pound-feet of torque to the wheels.
0-to-62 mph flies by in just 2.7 seconds before topping out at 199 mph.
Maserati hasn't stated official range estimates yet, but its engineers tell me to expect somewhere between 200 and 300 miles per charge.
