Mumbai University postpones all semester exams, likely to schedule it post Diwali

Students from at least five city colleges wrote to MU seeking exam postponement as they claimed that they did not get adequate time and practice for a written test in the long-form pattern. They said they have given only online exams with multiple-choice questions for two years. They also mentioned that the exam schedule was released at very short notice.

MUMBAI: After demands from students from several city colleges, Mumbai University has decided to postpone all semester-end exams starting from October 10. A circular to this effect was issued by the university on Tuesday morning. This includes exams for first, second and third year students from across courses. The revised dates of commencement will be released soon.
The decision was taken in the board of examinations meeting. Exams are most likely to be scheduled post Diwali.

Last Wednesday, senate members affiliated to Yuva Sena gheraoed the acting director (board of examinations and evaluations), Prasad Karande, in his office and sought postponement of exams. Students from several colleges had also gathered near Exam Bhavan to appeal to the university authorities.
