World No.18 Jelena Ostapenko is making her debut in our popular Fashion Retrospections series as the most extravagantly dressed player on the Hologic WTA Tour in 2022. As you’ll see in our overview of all her outfits this season, the Latvian alternated between classic Nike and attention-grabbing DK ONE apparel.

A former Adidas representative, Ostapenko showed up at the Sydney Tennis Classic in pink and purple separates made by a brand unknown to us at the time.

At the Australian Open, the tennis community couldn’t distinguish the logo on her neon yellow and mint outfit. Our research pointed us towards a young Latvian brand called DK ONE.

DK ONE was established in 2017, when Daniela, a women’s tennis player and trainer, designed her first tennis dress. Since a lot of people were impressed by the look and comfort of the dress, Daniela decided to take her passion to the next level and create more clothes.

In February, Ostapenko switched to Nike. We could see her sport a variety of separates at tournaments in Dubai, St. Petersburg and Doha, as well as during the European clay-court swing all the way until the French Open.

At the French Open, the Grand Slam she won in 2017, Ostapenko made a fashion tornado by debuting another DK ONE design that bears her name: “Alyona Ostapenko Set #1”. The busy sleeveless top features a black-and-white houndstooth pattern and pink ruffles on the armholes. The pleated skirt is predominantly pink with a black accent line on the hem.

There are two other variations of the memorable Roland Garros outfit: pink and purple tank and skirt with vibrant green / baby pink details. All the three ensembles are available at the DK ONE website and each is priced at 250 EUR.

In Birmingham, Ostapenko introduced this green and purple set, a toned-down version of the ruffle outfit.

The same style made it to Wimbledon, somewhat challenging the tournament’s strict clothing rules with dominant off-white elements.

At the US Open, Ostapenko once again made waves, this time with a combination of pink and animal print that greatly reminded us of Bethanie Mattek-Sands’ famous on-court fashion.

During the US hard-court swing, Ostapenko also promoted a blue version of this animal print design and a more classic green-and-blue set.

The Latvian player’s clothes feature a crown logo with the word “ONE” written beneath it and her “Alona Ostapenko” signature.

The last DK ONE outfit that Ostapenko introduced in 2022 was a pure black design with contrast white ruffles.

It’s good to see WTA players in custom tennis apparel that reflects their personality. DK ONE’s extravagant tennis fashion is in line with Ostapenko’s off-court style, for example her red-carpet glam in Guadalajara, and we love it. We welcome a diverse offer! 1. Her outfits must be designed by her grandmother. Peter pan collars and ruffles are ok on a seven year old. Not at all flattering and does not belong on a tennis court. Painful to look at.

  2. I love her feisty personality so much that she could wear a trash bin liner and I cheer for her. I wish she would tighten up her fitness and wear normal tennis outfits, but she is the boss. I want her to keep winning and wish her all the best. Jelena Ostapenko fan.
