Doja Cat has debuted a new hair look – swapping her usual avant-garde styles for flowing caramel waves – but she had a message for her critics about her "pretty" hair and makeup. "Felt like doing a pretty beat for you boring ass lemon water b*tches out there so you can shut the f*ck up now and leave me the f*ck alone, ciao," she succinctly captioned her new photos posted on February 2.
Doja often changes up her look with wigs, and her latest '90s-inspired highlighted style follows suit. She worked with her go-to hairdresser JStayReady on the new look – with hair from wig designer Dominic Ackah-Amihere. It doesn't sound like Doja will be permanently replacing her more statement fashion and beauty looks with the "boring ass lemon water" life any time soon, but either way, we can't help but admire those '90s popstar caramel waves.
In a video posted by her stylist, we see that the secret to the Say So singer's soft curls is a wide-barrelled curling iron and a wide-tooth comb, plus some expert zhuzhing by JStayReady.

Doja Cat shaved her head in August 2022, and since then has rocked her buzz cut for the majority of her bold fashion appearances – including many of her recent headline-making looks at Paris Fashion Week. She told Variety in a recent interview that the experience was freeing for her – and that it made the process of wig installation, when she does choose to wear one, a lot easier.
"When I shaved my eyebrows off and I shaved my head, I remember thinking, 'Get this sh*t off of me,' because I needed to change something," she said. "I was like, 'I need to do something,' so I just chopped it all off. And I could see the shape of my head. I could see my whole face. I can see my ears, now that I don't have a wig that's glued to my forehead… So, yeah, it's the best choice I've ever made, and I've never felt more beautiful."
She added: "And you know what? I still wear wigs, and they look better now because I don't have so much hair under them, braided with grease and glue buildup because I wouldn't wash my hair for two or three weeks at a time. Now I have a f*cking hair hat — a shake-and-go — and I just slap it on and it’s cute and I look like a little 'Pulp Fiction' girl."
