You might not have known Olivia Rodrigo a couple of years ago, but you definitely do now. After releasing her debut single, “Drivers License,” in 2021, Olivia catapulted into superstardom at the tender age of 17 (aka the same age pop icons like Taylor Swift and Lorde earned widespread fame for the first time).

Now that Olivia's vulnerability and punchy songwriting led to her critically-acclaimed debut album Sour and its follow-up GUTS, she's pretty much EVERYWHERE—especially after winning the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2022. Surely, she must be making $$$$, right? The short answer: Yes. The long answer: Also yes, but Olivia actually made quite a bit of ka-ching before "Drivers License" ever hit your playlist thanks to starring in a few Disney Channel shows when she was younger.

The exact contents of Olivia’s bank account are a bit obscure (because she basically became hella famous overnight), but don’t worry—I have invoked the spirit of Sherlock Holmes to figure out her net worth. Onward!

Olivia first started making $$$ on Disney Channel

Olivia has had starring roles on two Disney programs—Bizaardvark (from 2016 to 2019) and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series (2019 to 2021). Although the details of Olivia’s contract with Bizaardvark were never released, we *do* have an estimation of what her earning potential for the show was.

Ethan Whacker, one of Olivia’s costars, made more than $375,000 during the first two seasons (41 episodes) of the show. TMZ also reported that if Ethan were contracted for two additional seasons, he could make another $400,000, raises included. Mind you, Ethan wasn’t even the main character of the show—but Olivia was, which means she made serious bucks during Bizaardvark’s three seasons for playing Paige Olvera.

It’s also unclear what the actors on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series made, but based on Miley Cyrus, Cole and Dylan Sprouse, and Rowan Blanchard’s earnings for their respective Disney shows, we can guess that Olivia made anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000 per episode.

She’s had roles *outside* of Disney too

Olivia has the MF range, mmkay? Before getting into Disney, she starred in an American Girl movie titled Grace Stirs Up Success.

And if that wasn’t cool enough, Olivia also made a brief appearance in a 2017 episode of New Girl!! Peep her acting chops:

Let’s talk about “Drivers License,” shall we?

Since it dropped in 2021, "Drivers License" has racked up over 2 billion streams on Spotify—yes, you read that right—and more than 508 million views on YouTube. Oh, and it legit became the most streamed song on Spotify in 2021 with 1.1 billion streams (casual!). These numbers are great for Olivia’s bank account, considering streams + views = 💸💸💸. These figures are only expected to keep climbing too, because Billboard says Olivia has one of the most dominant Hot 100 hits of the past 30 years.

Ofc, she rakes in a buncha money from the massive success of her music career!

As for Sour? Well, the numbers don’t lie. Forbes reported that the album ended its first week with 295,000 total U.S. units (which, yes, included track streams and track sales). And the singer shows no signs of slowing down! Not to mention, Liv's sophomore album GUTS scored a No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart. FYI, it dropped in September 2023 and has already surpassed 1 billion streams. The first single off of the project, "Vampire," also skyrocketed to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100, making her the youngest artist in the chart’s history to post three number 1 singles. I-con-ic!

Olivia was also tapped to write a track for Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which is *already* receiving Oscars buzz, btw. Translation: more awards = more $$$$.

Her tour $$$ runneth over

People (read: me) are totally shelling out the big bucks to go and see Olivia while she's headlining her GUTS Tour, which means she'll be continuing to rake in tons more moolah throughout the rest of the year.

As well as brand deals and endorsements!

In 2021, Olivia became Glossier's first celebrity brand ambassador:

Aaaand dropped a Sour-inspired collaboration with CASETiFY (which is all sold out now, RIP 🥲):

TBD on how much she made from these partnerships, but it's safe to assume it was a pretty penny. Now, she's teamed up with Sony to release purple wireless earbuds, which are just *chef's kiss.*

Liv also has an ongoing deal with Apple, as her music videos for "Brutal" and "Get Him Back!" promote software and features included in the tech giant's products.

So, what is Olivia Rodrigo’s net worth in 2024?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Olivia is worth $16 million dollars now—which doubled since we last reported on it in 2022! Homegirl has faaar more money than I ever had at 21, so I’m gonna (a) continue feeling financially inadequate and (b) figure out how to become an overnight pop sensation. Whichever comes first!
