Baubles, Bling And Sparkles Were All Over The Frick’s Young Fellows Ball 2023

Following

When it comes to art parties in New York, you would imagine creativity would be all over the attire. But typically with high-end soirees, it's full of bank-like garb, a plain and somewhat corporate approach for the trusty supporters of the art world.

That was all thrown out of the window for the Frick Collection's Young Fellows Ball, which is now in it’s 22nd year. It’s easy to see why it's called one of New York City’s top social events—the fashion was a standout this year, as well. It was easily one of the most stylish events of New York, so far.

That's probably because of the smart theme that was chosen, in a maximalist 2023, the theme was "bejeweled" and it was indeed echoing the over-the-top bling The Blonds brought to New York Fashion Week last month. There was tons of jewels, bling, velvet suits, detailed embroidery and sequin dresses (of course).

As part of the party's theme, guests were invited to be inspired by the Frick's current exhibition, The Gregory Gift, which a gift of 28 original bling, gifted by Alexis Gregory, founder of Vendome Press, which includes two enormous clocks from the 18th century. And on the fourth floor of the museum, guests reveled in a Fragonard photo op, which garnered quite the long lineup over the course of the night, while DJs Angel + Dren spun the night away with disco classics.

In attendance was Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen, Frick Collection director Ian Wardropper, honorary chairman Irene Neuwirth, and fiction writer John Grisham, Bach Mai, event chairmen Paul Arnhold and Wes Gordon, as well as Marina Press Granger, Andrew Werner, Lizzie Asher, Allison Ecung, Casey Kohlberg, and Allison von Arnim, among others.
