Florida women kicked off Wednesday's five game ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge slate with a 68-58 win at Georgia Tech.
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Gators secure another win on the road, defeating Georgia Tech 68-58 in the 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge. Florida was led in scoring by
Laila Reynolds with 18 points and by
Ra Shaya Kyle on the boards grabbing 14 rebounds.
Florida kicked off Wednesday's five game ACC/SEC Women's Basketball Challenge slate with day's only SEC win.

The Florida victory over Georgia Tech now ties up the all-time series at 1-1.
ROAD SURGE
Florida is currently on a seven-game road stretch. The win at Georgia Tech will mark the Gators third straight road victory.
IN THE FIRST:
- Laila Reynolds was the sole scorer for Florida in the first five minutes of play

- Aliyah Matharu secured her first points of the game and led the quarter in scoring with 11
- Jeriah Warren's layup at 4:28 put Florida ahead 40-39 and the Gators led for the remainder of the game
- Florida recorded their game high in steals, totaling five
- The Gators finished the third shooting 58.8 percent from the field (10-17)
- Florida forced seven turnovers on the Yellow Jackets
IN THE FOURTH:
- Kyle and Reynolds led the Gators in scoring with six points each
- Florida out-rebounded the Yellow Jackets 11-to-6
- Kyle grabbed eight of those rebounds, dominating on the boards
- Reynolds was three of four from the field
WORTH NOTING
- Matharu scored 12 points in tonight's game and in now only 11 away from reaching 1,000 career points
- Reynolds recorded her first game leading the Gators in scoring with 18 points
- The Gators had three other players in double figures for scoring

- Kyle secured her third double-double of the season grabbing 14 rebounds
- Florida ended the game with 38 points in the paint and 71 total possessions
NEXT UP:
Florida will continue on their road stretch, traveling to Marshall University on Saturday afternoon. The game is set for a 1 pm tip and will be available on ESPN+.
Most recently, Marshall (2-3, 0-0 SBC) lost 78-89 to Wright State (Nov. 27) and will play Morehead State Thursday evening. Marshall has three players averaging in double figures for scoring and is led by Roshala Scott with 122 points (24.4 ppg).
