Surprise! Zendaya is no longer a brunette. Shortly after walking the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars, the actor ditched her dark hair in favor of a rich multidimensional blonde.
Warmer blonde tones are a go-to for our favorite celebs as of late. Keke Palmer, Rihanna, and Beyoncé have all worn similar shades lately, and Zendaya has apparently gotten the blonde bug too. For the Australian premiere of her new tennis movie Challengers, Z hit the carpet with her newly lightened hair in a tousled twist with soft curls pulled out to frame one side of her face, courtesy stylist Ursula Stephen. Her hair is a warm, multidimensional mix of brunette, honey blonde, wheat blonde, and sandy blonde, bridging the gap between light brunette and dark blonde a la the ever-popular “bronde” hue.

It's a pretty big change, and a gorgeous one too. The Challengers press cycle has just begun, so it makes sense that Z would want to change things up from her Dune looks. Besides, it's only natural to want to lighten up your hair color come springtime, so if you're considering changing up your brunette just a few steps, take this pic to your colorist ASAP. I have a feeling the Zendaya effect will have everyone running to the salon for a similar shade very soon.
The actor matched her eye makeup to her custom Loewe dress, wearing a gorgeous shimmery green shadow across her upper lids and beneath her lower lashline. Is this color choice a nod to the signature shade of tennis courts everywhere? Given that her dress was literally tennis-themed, probably yes. She stuck to warm tones on her eyes and cheeks, brushing a gorgeous reddish-peach across her cheekbones and a lighter peachy gloss on her lips. This whole look is basically spring personified, but then again, would you expect anything less from Zendaya? Game, set, match!
