Supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s houses in Florida seem like her own little piece of tropical heaven. She’s spent much of her life jet-setting around the world, but the Brazilian-born model recently told AD she is most content relishing in the simplicity of life at her primary residence in Miami. In a recent interview with The New York Times, the supermodel, who split from ex-husband Tom Brady in 2022, explained that she makes breakfast for her two young children and picks them up from after-school sports most days, and she even enjoys doing chores around the house. “They have to help me, and I tell them that,” she told the newspaper. “I say, ‘Listen, I understand we had chefs working with us and all that, but Mommy is choosing to do it this way right now.’” It’s a departure from the more pampered lifestyle she and the kids might be used to, but it’s also reflective of the Nourish cookbook author’s new season of life. Here, we’ve rounded up some of the places that Bündchen has lived over the years.
Eco-conscious Brentwood mansion
Bündchen and Brady met in 2006 after being introduced by a mutual friend. The pair got married in February 2009 and moved to Brentwood, California, where they initially rented a home before buying the empty 3.75-acre lot next door for $11.25 million. There, they built a massive 18,298-square-foot eco-conscious mansion with the help of architect Richard Landry and interior designer Joan Behnke. The couple went to great lengths to create a sustainable dwelling; Bündchen told AD that “90% of the materials used to construct [the] house were reclaimed.” The unique residence ran on a gray-water system, featured two huge solar panels that supplied energy throughout the property, and had a moat and a bridge leading up to the entrance. “I like simplicity and coziness,” Bündchen said at the time. They eventually sold the home to Dr. Dre for $40 million in 2014.
Costa Rican retreat
Later, the pair picked up a beachside retreat in Costa Rica for an undisclosed amount. Details of the home are scant, but in a recent interview with The New York Times, it was revealed that Bündchen, ever the fitness fanatic, built a pickleball court and a yoga pavilion at the residence. The estate, situated on the Nicoya Peninsula near the town of Santa Teresa, is where the couple held their second wedding ceremony and where they escaped following Brady’s 2018 Super Bowl loss. It was also where Bündchen headed with the kids following the couple’s divorce at the end of 2022. “I’m in a different place in my life,” she told CBS News in an interview last fall. “I’m able to choose more of what I want. I think, before, I was surviving, and now I’m living, which is different.”
Massachusetts estate
In 2014, the same year that they sold their Brentwood mansion, Bündchen and Brady dropped $4.5 million for a five-acre property in the Boston suburb of Brookline, creating a home base right in the New England Patriots’ backyard. The couple once again worked with Landry to custom-build a massive 12,112-square-foot mansion complete with a yoga studio, wine room, gym, play room, and a 2,400-square-foot guesthouse. Bündchen was open about her initial dislike of the colder temperatures, but told Vogue that she stuck with it out of love for her husband. “Cold is not my flavor,” she said during a video tour of the home for Vogue. “I’m Brazilian. I’d rather live barefoot in a hut in the middle of the forest somewhere.” The pair raised their family there for a few years before Brady was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in early 2020. By the end of that year, they’d listed the property for $39 million and ultimately sold it for a reported $32.5 million.
Flatiron luxury condo
Turns out, 2014 was a big real estate year for the superstar couple. They also purchased a Peter Marino–designed luxury condo in the Flatiron neighborhood of Manhattan for $11.7 million. The unit, situated on the 48th floor of One Madison, comprised three bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms spread across 3,310 square feet. Among the sky-high residence’s many noteworthy features were unique bronze doors, an open-layout chef’s kitchen, and a floor-to-ceiling wine fridge. Towering floor-to-ceiling windows also revealed a stunning 360-degree view of the city. Shortly after the purchase, the couple put the unit on the rental market for $40,000 a month, and two years later they flipped it back onto the market for $17.25 million. They lowered the asking price a bit after failing to find a buyer, and it was last listed for $13.95 million in 2018 and sold shortly afterward for an undisclosed price.
Montana retreat
In 2017, the couple reportedly picked up a vacation home in Montana at the exclusive Yellowstone Club, where celebrities like Bill and Melinda Gates and Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake also own properties. Though the price of Bündchen and Brady’s purchase is not publicly known, homes in the area run from anywhere between $2.5 million to $25 million. Membership to the Yellowstone Club is capped at 862 households, with annual fees of $37,500. The home does not seem to have been sold post-divorce, but it isn’t entirely clear if Brady or Bündchen kept this pad.
Tribeca condo
After selling their Flatiron condo, the couple picked up a $25.5 million unit in Tribeca. The five-bedroom condo was located on the 12th floor of Robert A.M. Stern’s 70 Vestry Street, a limestone behemoth overlooking the Hudson River. The pair worked with Peter Marino again to reimagine the interiors of the unit, and building amenities included an 82-foot lap pool, a children’s room, and a private carport. They sold the pad for $40 million after news broke that Brady had been traded to the Buccaneers but opted to maintain a smaller unit on the same floor for $3.5 million.
Tampa Bay rental
In 2020, Bündchen and Brady moved their family to Tampa to be closer to Brady’s training grounds for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. While they found their footing in the new city, they famously rented Derek Jeter’s mansion, situated on Tampa Bay’s exclusive Davis Islands.
Indian Creek Island compound
Later that year, the couple purchased a $17 million home on Indian Creek Island, better known as Billionaire Bunker. They razed the existing 5,772-square-foot property and began making plans to build their eco-conscious dream home on the two-acre estate. Following their split in 2022, Brady has seemingly retained the property as his primary residence.
Art Deco cottage in Miami Beach
Months prior to the announcement of their divorce in late 2022, Bündchen picked up a modest $1.25 million Art Deco–style cottage in Miami Beach. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home measures 1,540 square feet and features an open kitchen with a white marble waterfall island and a breakfast bar that leads to the main living area. It was at this suburban Surfside abode that Bündchen spoke with The New York Times about her love for simplicity and quiet. “When I’m like, ‘Benny, Vivi, dinner!’, it’s like, ‘You are hearing me,’” she said of the cozier home. “‘You’re definitely hearing me.’” She still maintains this home.
Miami Beach mansion
Bündchen also dropped $11.5 million on a Miami Beach mansion situated just across the creek from Brady’s pad (reports say that a strong swimmer could actually travel between the two homes via water). The five-bedroom pad measures 6,600 square feet, and listings show that it features soaring 25-foot ceilings, a home theater, a gym, several terraces, and a large outdoor pool with unobstructed views of the waterway. While the residence is under construction she’s been living in the aforementioned Art Deco cottage.
Suburban Southwest Ranches home
In late 2023, Bündchen added another house to her South Florida real estate portfolio with the purchase of a $9.1 million mansion in the affluent Southwest Ranches neighborhood on the eastern edge of the Florida Everglades. The rural property, set on 7.5 acres, features a full-size soccer field and an equestrian ring, according to The Wall Street Journal. The supermodel is planning to convert the residence into an “animal-friendly property,” according to the WSJ, complete with horses, chickens, and other farm animals. The home was originally built in 1976 but has since been extensively renovated. The main house comprises a two-story structure with nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms spread across 5,200 square feet, with high ceilings and an open-concept interior. A separate two-bedroom apartment can likely serve as a guesthouse.
