Boston’s iconic duck boats will take to the streets on Friday, kicking off the company’s 30th season.

Boston Duck Tours has grown from four to 28 amphibious tour vehicles over the past 30 years and has carried more than 12.5 million guests through the streets of Boston and into the Charles River.

“It has been a wild ride these past 30 years and a milestone like this deserves well earned recognition,” said Cindy Brown, CEO of Boston Duck Tours, in a statement. “Our valued Duck crew and partners have been an integral part of our success and we celebrate not only 30 years, but those who brought us here.”

The boats, billed as Boston’s most popular tour, carry about 500,000 guests each season through Boston’s streets and past historical landmarks before famously driving into the Charles River. The tours are led by workers called ConDUCKtors who share the city’s history in a fun way.

Tour highlights include Faneuil Hall, the Old State House, the current State House, the Public Garden, Boston Common, and the Charles River.

The boats have carried our championship teams and also our reality TV stars. Last year, Boston Rob, of “Survivor” fame, drove a boat on his Very Local TV show “Boston Rob does Beantown & beyond.”

Boston Duck Tours has partnered with another Boston-based company celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, Life is Good. The partnership over the past year has resulted in a Life is Good duck wrap, commemorative Life is Good apparel, and more.

The duck boats will take off on Friday at 9 a.m. from the Museum of Science, Prudential Center, and the New England Aquarium.

Tickets cost $52.99 for adults, $43.99 for seniors and active military, $37.99 for kids age 3 to 11, and $10.99 for kids under age 3.
