Pistons vs. Mavs GameThread: Game Time, TV, Odds, and More

Will Cade Cunningham play? Probably not

Two more games and this miserable season is complete. One more loss and the Detroit Pistons will secure the worst record in the NBA for the second consecutive season and the fifth straight season with a bottom-5 record in the NBA. They have already promised themselves the dishonor of the worst record in the franchise’s history. Two more games.

Will Cade Cunningham play? It would be nice, but I’m not counting on it. Cade, despite being in his third season in the NBA, has never played in his home town of Dallas. I’m not sure where his game ends up, but Cunningham’s offensive profile so far is most similar to Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic. He’s not nearly at the MVP level of Luka, but the offensive workload is similar, with many of its pluses and some of its minuses.

The Mavs are currently fighting the Clippers for the fourth seed in the west, with each side jockeying for home court advantage as it seems inevitable they will play each other in the first round of the playoffs.

The playoffs, and more specifically playoff wins, are a distant memory in Detroit, going on 15 years now. Sigh. Two more games.
