All the announcements from Nintendo’s spring Indie World event

Nintendo’s getting a jump start on the summer video game announcement season with its Indie World showcase event. Earlier this year, Nintendo put on its first Direct showcase, announcing a remaster of Epic Mickey, a sequel to Endless Ocean, and that a couple of Xbox exclusives — Grounded and Pentiment — would be arriving on the Switch. As with every Nintendo showcase announcement since checks watch 2019, rumors are swirling that this Indie World will finally be the one in which we get a release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong. And though we’ve been disappointed before, there’s a chance this time will be different. Silksong has recently received ratings in South Korea and Australia, while Xbox has finally allowed players to wishlist the game.

  • Now get ready for the Nintendo...Stitch!

Stitch is an embroidery game that challenges players to thread together all kinds of interesting embroidery puzzles. It’s like paint-by-numbers with thread, with increasing levels of difficulty and complexity. It’s a neat concept that reminds me a bit of the comfort of playing A Little To The Left.

Though Stitch is already out on Apple Arcade, it will make its Switch debut sometime today.

  • A sticky surprise.

Sticky Business — a cozy business management game where you run a sticker shop — is out right now on the Switch. (It’s already available on Steam.)

  • SteamWorld Heist returns this summer.

The steampunk pirate strategy game is getting a sequel and it’s launching on the Switch (along with PC, PlayStation, and Xbox) pretty soon: the release date is August 8th.

  • An Apple Arcade hit comes to the Switch.

The roguelike TMNT: Splintered Fate is making the jump from Apple’s subscription service to the Nintendo Switch when it launches in July.

  • Keep your (laser) eyes peeled for this.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen something new from Simogo, the studio behind games like Year Walk and Sayonara Wild Hearts. But the team’s latest looks like it will be worth the wait. The surreal adventure is launching May 16th on the Switch and Steam.

  • April showers bring May meow-ers.

Little Kitty, Big City was one of the cuter games on display at this year’s GDC and during today’s Indie World showcase. Play as a tiny kitty, who, after a nap gone wrong, must find their way back home. Think Stray but far cozier and cuter. Little Kitty, Big City launches May 9th on Nintendo Switch and Steam.

  • This is the way (forward).

WayForward, the studio behind classic-style games like Shantae and River City Girls, is back with a new 2D action game. It’s called Yars Rising, it’s very sci-fi, and it’s launching on the Switch sometime this year.

  • Stay tuned for indie game news.

Nintendo is holding its next Indie World showcase at 10AM ET today, and you can watch it right here. Just try not to be too disappointed if Silksong doesn’t make an appearance.

  • Is the Silksong release date in the room with us right now?

There’s a new Indie World showcase for tomorrow, at 10 A.M. ET. The last Nintendo event — which was a full Direct back in February — was a bit of a nothing burger unless you considered Grounded and Pentiment going multiplatform an extinction level event. This showcase though, might have some substance with the recent news that Hollow Knight: Silksong has been rated in Australia.
