TJ Power's time at Duke is over.

Power announced Thursday that he is entering his name into the transfer portal even though "Duke will always have a place in my heart."

The forward was a 5-star prospect and the No. 20 overall player in the recruiting class of 2023, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

While Power arrived at Duke with high expectations given his recruiting status, he was more of a secondary player in the rotation.

He averaged 2.1 points and 0.7 rebounds while shooting 33.3 percent from the field in 7.0 minutes per game during his only season with the Blue Devils. He didn't score in double figures in a single one of the team's games, although he hit a three-pointer in the NCAA tournament victory over James Madison.

Power joins a long list of Duke players who have entered the transfer portal this offseason.

Rodrigo Amare of The Chronicle noted Jeremy Roach, Jaylen Blakes, Mark Mitchell, Jaden Schutt and Christian Reeves have all entered the portal since the Blue Devils' Elite Eight loss to North Carolina State.

What's more, Kyle Filipowski and Jared McCain entered the NBA draft, which means head coach Jon Scheyer's team is going to look quite different in 2024-25.

That roster will be heavily reliant on freshmen, as Scheyer is bringing in the No. 1-rated class in the country for the 2024 cycle, per 247Sports' composite rankings. Cooper Flagg, who is the No. 1 prospect in the country, headlines that group of incoming freshmen and will surely be a go-to option.

As for Power, he could look to go somewhere he can receive more playing time and be a bigger factor after he was largely an afterthought as a freshman at Duke.
