Timberwolves' Anthony Edwards Believes He Can Be NBA's Best Player in 2-3 Years

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards told ESPN's Malika Andrews on NBA Today that he believes he'll be the league's best player in two to three years.

ESPN analyst Austin Rivers said during the segment that he believed Edwards would be the league's top player in two to three years. Andrews then asked Edwards if he agreed with the notion.
"Yeah, I 100 percent agree with him for sure," Edwards replied. "About two to three years, yeah."
Edwards is pretty great already, averaging a career-high 25.9 points per game for the Wolves in his fourth NBA season. He just led Minnesota to a 56-26 record, good enough for third in the Western Conference.
At just 22 years old, Edwards has a bright future. When Andrews asked him to give a percentage on how close he is to reaching his career ceiling, Edwards said he's at just 40 percent.
If that's the case, then Edwards could easily be the NBA's best in a couple of years, although he'd certainly have competition in the likes of San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama, Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokić, Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Dončić and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, among others.
For now, Edwards is focused on the playoffs, which begin for his third-seeded team on Saturday at home vs. the No. 6 seed Phoenix Suns.
