To beat the Pacers, the Bucks have to get the game at their pace.
“Indiana wants to get the ball up between 20 and 24…They want it to cross half court — I know they practice in two — but they know four is realistic.” – Doc Rivers

Doc Rivers had referred to this week as camp and said that the Bucks are going to work hard in this week.
So, I asked if he felt like they were able to accomplish that today, even with the injuries. Rivers said the late scratch of Lillard made that more difficult.

How is Giannis Antetokounmpo progressing?
Doc Rivers: “He’s doing well. He’s walking around and looks good. I can say he’s farther than we thought he would be, but just not ready yet.”
Still hopeful he can play?
Rivers: “I’m still hopeful, but I just have no idea right now.” – 4:04 PM
Eric Nehm @eric_nehm
Was Damian Lillard able to practice?
Doc Rivers: No.
After Sunday’s game, you mentioned trying to take him out in the second quarter. He said he didn’t feel 100 percent and had some irritation. So is this just being cautious?

More on this storyline

After Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Tuesday that the Bucks are preparing to be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for the start of their first round series against Indiana, Shams Charania of The Athletic confirmed on Thursday on Stadium’s Playoff Preview show (Twitter video link) that the star forward’s status “is still in doubt” for the series. “He has been rehabbing daily with that strained calf, getting treatment,” Charania said. “He has had even some stationary workouts on the court, but he is doubtful to start the series. I’m told this injury could be anywhere from two to four weeks, potentially. We know his superhuman ability, but that clearly puts his status for this series in jeopardy. “The Bucks (and) Giannis have to have some level of caution in being careful with this calf injury. Already this season, Giannis has had Achilles tendinitis, a hamstring injury as well, and now this calf strain. The last thing (they) would want is for him to get back, rush on the floor with a calf injury, not being 100% and then potentially tweaking that or leading to even worse injuries.” -via Hoops Rumors / April 19, 2024
Extensive plans were made for the future, and eventually the duo and their mother were invited to the Greece headquarters to put pen to paper. But there was only one contract on the table. “He brought the contract and put it in front of me, and I’m like, ‘Okay great, where is my brother’s?’” Giannis said on Thanasis’ podcast, “Thanalysis,” per Bleacher Report’s Andrew Peters. “And he was like ‘We’re not going to sign your brother’s today. You’re going to sign yours and then we’re going to bring your brother in a week to sign his.’ And I was like, ‘Uh uh, no thank you.’” Apparently, Adidas made a terrible miscalculation and instantly lost the trust of the future Hall of Famer. That unexpectedly opened the door for a new suitor. -via Clutch Points / April 19, 2024
Nate Jones: They can monitor it all they want. Giannis and Dame are becoming closer and closer by the day. The idea that everyone is giving up on this already is way off. Only thing I wish is that the trade happened early summer, so they could have had time to gel/plan before the season -via Twitter @esidery / April 19, 2024
