The skies seemed completely gray, and the landscape seemed substantially green on Friday in Washington, an uncommonly cool day but one that obviously represented springtime. Perhaps a slightly damp and humid springtime.

It was the 110th day of the year, and gave an example of the variety of guises that spring days may assume. If cooler than average, it still had enough raindrops, just enough, to conform to the reputation of a month known for showers.
