The inaugural AEW Dynasty pay-per-view is set for Sunday, and it will see nearly every major AEW championship be put on the line.

In the likely main event, Samoa Joe will defend the AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland, who has slowly ascended to main event status, and may finally be ready to take AEW's top prize.

Additionally, new AEW world tag team champions will be crowned when The Young Bucks face FTR in a ladder match for that titles that were vacated after Sting retired.

As significant as those matches are, it can be argued that the biggest bout of the card won't have any tangible stakes, as Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson will do battle to simply determine who the better wrestler is.

Here is a full rundown of the match card and projected match order for Dynasty, plus a closer look at the top matches to watch.

Where: Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis

When: Sunday, April 21 at 8 p.m. ET (Pre-Show starts at 7 p.m. ET)

Top AEW Dynasty Matches to Watch

Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson

While most matches on the Dynasty card will be contested with championships hanging in the balance, Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson will merely look to prove something to themselves.

Ospreay, who is among AEW's newest major signings, is considered by many to be the best in-ring worker in the world, but the same can be said for Danielson, who has had that distinction for years.

It hasn't taken Ospreay long to make his mark in AEW, particularly with the highly regarded match he had against Konosuke Takeshita at Revolution back in March, but he has a chance to eclipse it when he clashes with Danielson.

For those who like to grade matches, five stars could be the baseline for Ospreay and Danielson, as they will undoubtedly go to great lengths to ensure the crowd is thoroughly entertained.

Even though the winner won't hold gold, a win over The American Dragon could go a long way toward putting Ospreay into the AEW world title conversation already.

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland

Samoa Joe is in the midst of a dominant title reign, having held the AEW World Championship for over 100 days, but he may have finally met his match in the form of Swerve Strickland.

At Revolution, Swerve came close to winning his first world title on multiple occasions, but Joe managed to retain by beating "Hangman" Adam Page in a three-way match.

Over the past several months, Swerve's popularity with the AEW fanbase has surged to the point that there is a fairly substantial expectation that he will finally get the job done at Dynasty.

Should Strickland win, it will be a historic moment, as he would be the first Black world champion in AEW history.

Also, since Swerve has never won a world title in a major promotion, knocking off a legendary performer like Joe to become AEW world champion would firmly cement him as a top guy for a long time to come.

Swerve winning is far from guaranteed given how strong Joe has looked during his AEW tenure, but the mere possibility of Strickland getting his crowning moment is worth tuning in for.

Kazuchika Okada vs. Pac

At Dynasty, Japanese legend Kazuchika Okada will compete in his first pay-per-view match since officially signing with AEW.

The Rainmaker was a seven-time IWGP world heavyweight champion during his time with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and it didn't take him long to make an impact and win championship gold in AEW.

In only his third match after signing with AEW, and in his first singles bout, Okada beat Eddie Kingston to become the new continental champion.

With Okada and The Young Bucks engaging in a rivalry with Kingston and Penta El Zero Miedo, Pac made his long-awaited return to AEW to help his former associates and step up to Okada.

That set the stage for a title match between Okada and Pac, which has the chance to steal the show as part of an event that is loaded with high-end in-ring action.
