Here are a few reasons why classes in schools and colleges are suspended on the day of the election:
  • Schools and colleges are closed during elections to ensure a smooth democratic process.
  • Closure on polling day improves security for students and staff, particularly in areas where there are election-related security concerns.
  • Many educational institutions serve as polling stations during elections, so closing them aids logistical planning.
  • Closing schools and colleges during elections reduces distractions from political activities and campaigning, allowing students to concentrate on their studies once classes resume.
