POSITIVES

— Has the range to get to his landmark and expand his set points up the arc.

— Strong hands with some jolt on contact that can snap a rusher's head back, feed his man over on double-teams and torque out defenders on kickouts.

— Flashes of playing long and keeping defenders at his fingertips to protect his frame.

— Excels on angle-drive blocks, torquing defenders initially off their spot to create some lateral displacement.

NEGATIVES

— Upright playing style saps his control and sustain ability, causing him to fall off blocks late in the rep.

— Persistently drifts into oversets to create a soft inside shoulder that he struggles to recover from.

— Up-and-down use of leverage and body positioning leaves something to be desired considering experience level.

OVERALL

Garret Greenfield is a five-year starter with 55 career starts split between each tackle spot, including 15 starts at left tackle last season inside South Dakota State's run-heavy (61 run-pass split), multiple run scheme centered around A-gap power, G-lead and zone runs.

Greenfield succeeds as a run-blocker on angle-drive blocks with flashes of connecting on target at the second level with heavy hands to deliver immediate jolt and torque to laterally displace his target. His pads rise quickly post contact, and he loses control quickly when challenged, causing him to fall off too many blocks.

In pass protection, Greenfield moves well, can expand his set points and protect the corner while striking with force to snap the rusher's head back, although he primarily uses two hands with flashes of independent strikes. He struggles staying inside-out with a bad habit of being manipulated when set up, leaving him late to redirect against counters.

Overall, Greenfield has the size and athletic ability to warrant being drafted. But considering his age and experience level, he has an alarming number of technical breakdowns that call into question his ability to develop into more than a backup in the NFL.
