OVERALL

Dylan McMahon is a four-year starter with at least eight starts at each of the three interior line spots, including 11 starts at center last season in NC State's run-first (56-44 run-pass split), zone-based run scheme with gap concepts sprinkled in. McMahon has a slight, lean frame and build with marginal arm length, play strength and solid athletic ability.

McMahon is quick out of his stance with the movement skills and aiming points to reach his landmarks in the zone run game and locate second-level targets. However, he lacks the functional strength to hold the point and execute gap concepts, making him highly scheme-dependent.

In pass protection, McMahon slides and mirrors well enough to get to spots on time and redirect to stay in the fight against counters. But his marginal length and stopping power will be difficult to overcome in the NFL.

Overall, McMahon is a solid athlete who can function in a zone-heavy scheme at the pivot. He'd be worth bringing in as an undrafted free agent. But his lack of play strength is a limiting factor in his overall ability to control/sustain blocks that will make it difficult for him to stick in the NFL long-term.
