OVERALL

Tylan Grable is a four-year starter with 43 career starts at left tackle split between the FCS (16) and Division I (27), including 13 starts at left tackle last season in UCF's run-heavy (59-41 run-pass split), multiple run scheme. Grable has a lean, muscular build with solid arm length, big hands, very good athletic ability and adequate play strength.

Grable wins as a run-blocker on the move on pulls, climbs with very good burst, quickness and redirect ability to line up and seal off targets. He flashes some violent hands on contact on drive/base blocks, but he has erratic timing and placement with minimal stopping power, putting him on his heels and into scramble mode too often.

In pass protection, Grable is a loose, easy mover with the range to stick at tackle and protect the corner. He strikes with authority and has an effective snatch-trap technique to counter the bull-rush. However, Grable gets caught high-hipped in his anchor and is wild with his hand placement, resulting in an unreliable anchor.

Overall, Grable projects as a draft-and-stash blocker with very good athletic ability, twitch and shock in his hands. He is diligent about improving, but he needs a significant amount of work as a soon-to-be 25-year-old rookie, especially sustaining in the run game and anchoring against power, before he sees an NFL field.
