Three individuals in a stolen Lexus attempted to escape police Monday afternoon in a wild chase across several Massachusetts highways. The venture ended in a spinout crash.
Aerial video from a State Police helicopter captured the pursuit and the moment the car crashed after hitting stop sticks deployed by troopers on Route 290 west in Northborough.
During the crash, the stolen vehicle hit another car before coming to rest in the median. There were no injuries to the occupants of the other vehicle, police said.
Troopers soon secured the three individuals in the Lexus, according to police. Two were taken to UMass Medical Center with minor injuries, and the third, a juvenile, was transported to the Leominster barracks for booking.
The Lexus, a 2002 IS, was reported stolen out of Peabody, police said. The pursuit covered multiple highways in Ashland, Natick, Southborough, Westborough, Bolton, Marlborough, and Northborough.
In the investigation, police learned that the stolen car was involved in an earlier crash in Marlborough with two other vehicles.
