Emma Weyant Named to 2023-24 Academic All-America Women’s Swimming & Diving Team

She earns Second-Team honors from College Sports Communicators.
 
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida swimmer Emma Weyant was named to the 2023-24 Academic All-American Women's Swimming and Diving Team, announced by the College Sports Communicators Tuesday afternoon.
 
The native of Sarasota, Fla. is a Political Science major with a 3.60 GPA. She helped the Florida women win their second-consecutive SEC Championship Title. Additionally, the junior was part of the Gators third-place finish at this year's NCAA National Championships, marking the program's best finish since 2010. Weyant was a member of the 800 Free Relay National Championship Team who brought home Florida's first title in 35 years. Their 6:48.59 time set a new school record as well as a new Georgia Pool Record.
 
This season, she earned four All-American honors. In addition to her 800 Free Relay Title, she was National Runner-Up in the 500 Free and 400 IM as well as earned fifth place in the 1,650 Free. At this year's SEC Championships, Weyant defended her 400 IM Title and was crowned 500 Free Champion.
 
At 19-years-old, she represented Team USA at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, where she won a silver medal in the women's 400-Meter IM after swimming a personal best 4:32.76. She is set to compete at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Indianapolis, IN. The week-long meet begins on June 15 and concludes June 23.
 
Eleven of the 32 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women's swimming & diving teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 11 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.85.
