Authorities identify man found dead behind Framingham sandwich shop

The 30-year-old man's cause of death remains under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Authorities on Tuesday released the identity of the victim of an apparent homicide, whose body was found behind a business in Framingham this weekend.

Police found Anthony Junior Lopez, 30, behind Hot Table, the sandwich shop he worked at on Worcester Road, on Saturday around 10 p.m., according to statements released Tuesday and this weekend by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan’s office.

The Framingham resident’s cause of death remains under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

“The victim had obvious trauma to his body,” the district attorney’s office noted in its initial release.

The district attorney’s office, Massachusetts State Police, and the Framingham Police Department are investigating the case.
