The UFC continues to fill out the UFC 303 fight card, which will be headlined by a welterweight bout between former UFC two division champion Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
On Tuesday, the promotion announced that Mayra Bueno Silva will face Macy Chiasson at the highly anticipated event. UFC 303 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on June 29. The ESPN+ streaming pay-per-view event serves as the centerpiece for the UFC’s annual International Fight Week.
Bueno Silva (10-3-0-1) is the No. 3 fighter in the official UFC women’s bantamweight rankings. The 32-year-old Brazilian recently fought Raquel Pennington for the vacant UFC women’s bantamweight title at UFC 297. Pennington won that fight, and the title, with a unanimous decision victory.
Chiasson (9-3) is coming off a March submission win over Pannie Kianzad. The 32-year-old American is ranked N0. 7 in the women’s bantamweight division.
Bueno Silva vs. Chiasson will be contested at the bantamweight limit of 135 pounds.
UFC 303: Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler
Conor McGregor has not fought since he broke his leg in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264 in July 2021. McGregor underwent surgery to repair the damage to that limb.
McGregor is 22-6 in his career. Over his past four fights, dating back to October 2018, he is 1-3 with two TKO losses to Dustin Poirier and a submission setback to then-UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. McGregor's one win during that stretch was a January 2020 TKO victory over Donald Cerrone at welterweight.
The 37-year-old Chandler has a career record of 23-8. His last fight took place in November 2022. He lost to Dustin Poirier via submission in that outing. He is also 1-3 in his past four UFC bouts. In addition to the loss to Poirier, Justin Gaethje beat Chandler by decision, and Charles Oliveira defeated him via TKO. Chandler's win during that stretch was a May 2022 knockout of Tony Ferguson.
Also on the card is a light heavyweight matchup between former champion Jamahal Hill and highly ranked Khalil Rountree Jr.
