Gators Tabbed to East Lansing Regional

The Florida women's golf team qualified for its 30th regional appearance and was selected the No. 3 seed.
INDIANAPOLIS - The Florida women's golf team was selected to compete as the No. 3 seed in the East Lansing Regional, the NCAA announced Wednesday in conjunction with Golf Channel.

The three-day event begins on Monday, May 6 at Forest Akers West Golf Course hosted by Michigan State in East Lansing, Michigan. After 54 holes, the top-5 teams and low individual (not on an advancing team) advance to the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. from May 17-22.

In 2022, the NCAA announced the expansion from four to six regional sites, matching the same amount on the men's side. A total of 72 teams and 36 individuals will compete overall as the five other host schools include Auburn, Michigan, Texas A&M, Wake Forest and Washington. For more a complete list of each regional, click here.

The Gators have qualified for 30 of the 31 all-time women's golf regionals as they were introduced in 1993. Florida has made every regional since 2000 and each year under head coach Emily Glaser. The program has won three regional titles with the first in 2008 and back-to-back in 2016 and 2017.

Florida put together a strong regular season. The Gators finished top-7 in all nine tournaments, including three victories, seven top-5 and six top-3 finishes. UF also ended with a 2-1 match play record with victories over Pepperdine and UCLA.

Individually, Maisie Filler led the Orange and Blue in her final season. earned the No. 1 ranked player in the country by the NCAA Rankings on Feb. 21. She held the ranking for two weeks and is currently ranked No. 9.

Filler won her third tournament title of the season at the Moon Golf Invitational, in a field that featured 12 top-25 teams. Currently, her three wins are tied for the most in the nation. She is also the eighth Gator all-time to win three medalist honors in a season with Sierra Brooks being the most recent in 2018.

The victory was Filler's third consecutive in stroke play tournaments as the spring opener was altered to match play only. She went 3-0 in the event with wins against three ranked teams; No. 4 UCLA, No. 8 Texas and No. 20 Pepperdine.

A pair of newcomers in Paula Francisco and Inès Archer have had strong starts to their careers at UF. Archer is tied for the team-high six top-25 finishes and has recorded the team-best finish in the last three consecutive, all top-20 or better.
