ICAI guidelines on conducting CA exams three times a year beginning in 2024 released; check registration deadlines

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's Board of Studies has announced enrollment deadlines for the Foundation and Intermediate courses for the CA exams in September 2024 and January 2025.
This change comes as the institute prepares to hold the ICAI CA exams three times a year, in May-June, September, and January.
The notice reads, "The Institute has decided that from May/June 2024 onwards, Intermediate & Foundation course Examinations will be held thrice in a year in the month of May/June, September and January from the existing practice of twice a year and CA Final course examination will continue to be held twice a year in the month of May and November."
Previously, CA exams for all courses were held biannually, but now, this schedule remains only for the CA Final course exams, taking place in May and November.
According to the new policy, students who have been registered with the ICAI's Board of Studies for at least four months prior to the examination month and meet the requirements of Regulation 25F are eligible for the CA Foundation examination.
To be eligible for the September 2024 exam, you must register for the CA Foundation course by May 1st. Similarly, registration for the CA Intermediate course for the January 2025 exam ends on May 1st, and is available through both routes.
