NFL Network's Peter Schrager released his final mock draft ahead of the start of the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday, and it was highlighted by quarterbacks coming off the board early and often.

Schrager's mock had quarterbacks going with not only the first three picks, but six of the first 13 selections. Here is a look at Schrager's full mock:

Additionally, Schrager had the Denver Broncos taking Oregon quarterback Bo Nix 12th overall and the Las Vegas Raiders taking Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. 13th overall.

Most of the top 10 picks in Schrager's mock are considered chalk, especially USC quarterback Caleb Williams, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye going 1-2-3 to the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and New England Patriots, respectively.

The first surprise in Schrager's mock came at No. 5 overall with the Los Angeles Chargers opting to stand pat rather than trading down, and taking Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham.

Notre Dame's Joe Alt has long been viewed as the best tackle in the draft, but he falls outside the top 10 in Schrager's exercise, while Latham goes fifth despite many draft experts having him ranked as more of a mid-to-late first-rounder.

Schrager's first trade is at the No. 7 spot, and it sees the Tennessee Titans move down four spots in a deal with the Minnesota Vikings, who get their quarterback of the future in Michigan's J.J. McCarthy.

Even with the trade down, the Titans get the player who is widely considered the top offensive tackle in the draft in the form of Alt at No. 11 overall.

While Williams, Daniels, Maye and McCarthy all seem like safe bets to go in the top 10, the biggest question mark entering the draft may be where Nix and Penix land.

Both Nix and Penix were highly productive in college, especially last season when they both finished in the top three in Heisman Trophy voting. However, both players have major question marks surrounding them.

Nix is an older prospect at 24 years of age, and it is unclear how high his ceiling is, while Penix has a lengthy injury history, including two torn ACLs during his time at Indiana.

Even so, Schrager has them going just outside the top 10 to quarterback-needy teams in the Broncos and Raiders.

Denver recently acquired quarterback Zach Wilson from the New York Jets, but given how much he has struggled during his career thus far, it seems likely that the Broncos would prefer to take a quarterback early rather than handing Wilson the starting job.

As for the Raiders, they could get away with not taking a quarterback early since Aidan O'Connell was solid last season as a rookie and they signed veteran Gardner Minshew in free agency, but Penix is the last of the potential first-round picks at quarterback still on the board in Schrager's mock, and Vegas pounces to land him.

The guesswork will finally come to an end Thursday night when Round 1 of the 2024 NFL draft begins at 8 p.m. ET in Detroit.
