GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida placed 64 student-athletes on the 2024 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, announced Thursday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.

The 2024 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2023 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.

Florida's SEC champion men's and women's swimming & diving programs placed 24 and 19, respectively on the list.

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the SEC champion Gators saw all gymnasts eligible (11) earn a spot on the 2024 SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Six from women's basketball and four from the men's team earned spots on the Academic Honor Roll. The women's basketball total is one away from the program record reached for the fourth time last season.

More Gators Academic Honor Roll notes:
  • Three turned in 4.0 grade point averages - gymnast Victoria Nguyen and swimmers Ekaterina Nikonova and Aris Runnels
  • Josh Liendo is one of six in NCAA Men's Swimming Championships history – and first since 1996 - to win three individual titles and swim on at least two championship relays teams. He is the first to sweep the NCAA 50 and 100 free and 100 butterfly since Florida's Caleb Dressel in 2017 and 2018. He is the SEC Swimmer of the Year.
  • Four other swimmers who were part of NCAA champion relays – Micayla Cronk, Julian Smith, Macguire McDuff and Emma Weyant – appear on the Winter Academic Honor Roll.
  • Earlier this week, Weyant and Jake Mitchell were named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans
  • Junior Leanne Wong shared the NCAA uneven bars title and is a finalist for the Honda Award.
  • Leilani Correa was named the SEC basketball Sixth Woman of the Year

To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
