The most anticipated draft for the Patriots in over three decades has come and gone.

The 2024 NFL Draft came to an end on Saturday, with New England making five picks in the final four rounds. After a poor showing on offense in 2023, the Patriots continued to emphasize adding to that side of the ball on Saturday. They drafted four more offensive players on Day 3 of the draft, using seven of their eight picks on that side of the ball.

Of course, Drake Maye headlines the Patriots 2024 draft class. New England drafted the UNC product with the third overall pick on Thursday as it looks to start anew at quarterback.

But the Patriots took a second quarterback on Saturday, drafting Tennessee’s Joe Milton with their second sixth-round pick. Milton, who transferred to Tennessee from Michigan in 2021, has the strongest arm among all the quarterbacks in this year’s class, according to many draft evaluators. In his lone season as Tennessee’s starting quarterback, Milton threw for 2,769 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions, helping the Volunteers go 9-4 in 2023.

New England also double-dipped at wide receiver. It selected Washington’s Ja’Lynn Polk in the second round after trading down to nab a second fourth-round selection in a pick swap with the Los Angeles Chargers. It used that pick to select UCF’s Javon Baker.

The Patriots also made two selections along the offensive line, adding Penn State offensive tackle Caedan Wallace in the third round and Texas A&M guard Layden Robinson in the sixth round.

South Carolina cornerback Marcellas Dial was the lone defensive player the Patriots drafted, hearing his name called with the team’s first sixth-round pick. Florida State tight end Jaheim Bell was the final selection the team made in the draft.
