If fans of Jimmy Buffett ever find that lost shaker of salt, they can place it on a shelf next to an officially licensed Margaritaville bobblehead, now available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will go to the late singer-songwriter’s Singing for Change Foundation.
The limited-edition figurines are now available for preorder exclusively through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee. The bobbleheads, which will ship to customers in June, are $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
The bobblehead is a colorful, guitar-playing parrot wearing a Hawaiian shirt and backward baseball cap. The base features a sand texture on the top with a bamboo-like border and the word “Margaritaville.”
According to its website, Singing for Change “funds organizations that inspire personal growth, community integration and the enhanced awareness that collectively, people can bring about positive change.” The charity has been “sprinkling pixie dust,” as Buffett called it, since he launched it in 1995. It received $1 for every concert ticket he sold.
Beloved by Parrot Heads everywhere, Buffett, known for songs including “Margaritaville” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” died of skin cancer on Sept. 1 in Sag Harbor, New York. He was 76.
The fun-loving entrepreneur, who opened his first Margaritaville store in 1985, was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
