OAKLAND — One man was killed and another man wounded in an East Oakland shooting Friday morning, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 4:20 a.m. in the 1500 block of International Boulevard, near 16th Avenue.

Both men were taken to a hospital, where one of them died a short time later. Police said he was a 24-year-old resident of Daly City but did not release his name.

The other man, a 26-year-old resident of San Francisco, was in stable condition.

Police did not say if the men knew each other or why they were in Oakland.

A motive for the shooting was under investigation. No arrests were announced.

The killing is the 26th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 32 homicides in the city.
