OAKLAND — Authorities here have released the name of a Modesto man shot and killed during a late-night argument on International Boulevard last month.

Donya Spivy, 20, was shot inside his car on March 14 while arguing with the occupants of another vehicle, authorities said. He died the next day, and police haven’t announced any arrests.

A GoFundMe page by Spivy’s family describes him as a father of a 1-year-old who had another baby on the way at the time of his death.

“He was loved and will be missed by many,” the page says.

According to authorities, the people in the vehicle who allegedly shot Spivy had been seen harassing his girlfriend and attempting to recruit her into prostitution as she walked along International Boulevard. Spivy may have tried to intervene, resulting in a confrontation and shooting on the 1400 block of 17th Avenue.

After being shot, Spivy drove a short distance and crashed his Infiniti sedan into the gate of an auto repair shop, police said. He was transported to Highland Hospital and died around 3 p.m. March 15.
