Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Dominik Mysterio Reportedly Set for Elbow Surgery; Dom Responds

After showing up on Raw with his arm in a sling, Dominik Mysterio is reportedly in need of elbow surgery.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Mysterio will undergo Tommy John surgery, which is normally a procedure reserved for baseball pitchers when they tear the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in their throwing elbow.

While pitchers who undergo Tommy John surgery typically don't return to game action for a year or more, the recovery time shouldn't be close to as long for Mysterio since he won't put as much stress on his elbow as a wrestler.

Per Meltzer, the injury occurred during Dominik's Raw match against Andrade on April 15, and it was a "freak accident."

However, Mysterio seemed to dispute the report on X, writing: "No surgery for this guy…"

Dominik had been scheduled to team with Judgment Day stablemate JD McDonagh in a tag team match against Andrade and Ricochet on this week's Raw, but Dom was in a sling and had to be replaced by Santos Escobar.

Despite the injury, Meltzer noted that the current plan is for Mysterio to continue being an on-screen character even while he can't wrestle.

Even so, if Meltzer's report is accurate, the injury is a significant blow to The Judgment Day since Rhea Ripley announced last week that she was injured and was forced to vacate the Women's World Championship, ending her reign of over one year.

Now, The Judgment Day is down two key members from an in-ring perspective, although it should allow more of the spotlight to shine on world heavyweight champion Damian Priest.

WWE Reportedly Transitioning Out of PG Era

WWE has been a PG-rated product for over 15 years, but that reportedly may soon be changing.

According to Meltzer (h/t WrestleTalk), promos recently cut by The Rock and Paul Heyman are reportedly being considered the "official end of the PG Era" within WWE.

Meltzer added that while it doesn't necessarily mean WWE's weekly television shows will change significantly, it is a possibility with the company's new television deals set to begin next year.

With Raw set to move to Netflix and NXT set to move to The CW, WWE will reportedly have discussions and could potentially make some changes to the product if that is what the TV partners want and if advertisers are fine with it.

Arguably the most successful time in WWE history was the Attitude Era, which lasted from the late 1990s until the early 2000s.

Ratings and popularity were booming, and a big reason why WWE was thriving at the time was the fact that the company ditched its PG roots and was presenting a more mature, adult-oriented product.

Like anything in entertainment, the momentum didn't last forever, and WWE returned to PG programming in 2008.

For many years after that, it can be argued that WWE was not consistently providing a great product to fans, although the narrative has largely changed ever since Triple H took full control of creative following the departure of Vince McMahon this year.

The build toward WrestleMania 40 was roundly praised thanks in large part to the involvement of The Rock, who cursed at will and reintroduced the use of blood to WWE programming.

If WWE is open to making those factors more common in the future, it could go long way toward helping WWE keep its momentum for a long time to come.

Las Vegas Reportedly Considered WrestleMania 41 Front-Runner

WWE has yet to make an official announcement regarding where next year's WrestleMania 41 will be held, but a favorite has reportedly emerged.

According to Meltzer (h/t WrestleTalk), WWE is discussing holding WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas on May 3 and 4, 2025, and Vegas is considered the front-runner to be the host city.

Minneapolis has also been in the mix for WrestleMania 41, and it may still have a chance to land the event since an official decision has not been made, but Las Vegas looks to be in the catbird seat.

The glitz and glamor of Vegas make it an ideal location for WrestleMania, plus it would be held in a state-of-the-art facility in the form of the Las Vegas Raiders' Allegiant Stadium.

In recent years, Vegas has gone from having no major professional sports teams to having an NFL team in the Raiders, an NHL team in the Vegas Golden Knights and soon an MLB team in the Athletics, making it a destination for sports fans.

It comes as little surprise that WWE may want to be part of Las Vegas' ascent given the extra attention it would likely bring to the product.

WrestleMania was held in Vegas once before, as WrestleMania 9 emanated from Caesars Palace in 1993, but WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium would be a far larger and more newsworthy event.
