Should Manchester United Pursue Fulham FC Centre Back Tosin Adarabioyo

Following

As Manchester United and the rest of the Premier Premier League gear up for another busy summer transfer window, new boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be hoping to conclude early, effective business for the Red Devils.

While hamstrung in certain areas given the Financial Fair Play regulations, there will be a lot of movement on player exits this summer, with the likes of Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelöf, Raphael Varane, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen all likely to move on this summer.

Manchester United are going to have to play smart throughout this window, picking up quality, Premier League proven players for the best deals possible. One of those players is Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo.

The former Manchester City academy graduate has been in stellar form since coming back from injury towards the back end of 2023, and has practically played every minute available for Fulham in the Premier League.

At 26, Tosin is entering his prime years, and it is starting to show. Competent on the ball, physically impressive in defending channels and one-v-ones, and also an intelligent defender who has superb awareness of the game unfolding in front of him.

Representing a free transfer as he comes towards the end of his contract this season, Manchester United - among others - will be in queue looking to sign him for what would represent an almighty coup.

Manchester United need to overhaul their squad, with a particular focus on central defence. With Varane leaving, as well as one - or even both - of Harry Maguire and Lindelöf, the Red Devils will need to be proactive in recruiting replacements for acceptable fees.

There is a strong possibility of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite arriving at Old Trafford this summer, but it will take a sizeable chunk of their transfer budget with the rumoured price to be around £60 million.

Other areas, such as midfield and in attack, are going to need reinforcement, too, which is why Tosin represents unbelievable value for a very apt, solid, Premier League proven centre back.

There will not be many who have all the right characteristics and age profile available for free this summer, which is why Manchester United need to pounce and act quickly to secure his signature.

Tosin will not be short of options, and the Red Devils will be without the lure of Champions League football, but they can offer playing time and regularity in the team given the injuries that have occurred this season and the lack of options.

Ratcliffe and his sporting department will be looking for bargains this summer, and there will be few deals this transfer window that represent better value than this one.
