Lately, finding peace has become a rare commodity, something that will soon only be seen in life’s museums, after all, we are increasingly busy, overwhelmed, unmotivated, and disappointed.
We hardly have time anymore to do what we love that isn’t related to work, commitments, or annoyance. We have few spaces left where we can do nothing, think about nothing, forgetting that we exist. And that is sorely missed.
We all know how much the body and mind need a break, a daily emotional interval, so that we don’t find ourselves fatigued and exhausted by the fast-paced and repetitive rhythm of unpleasant daily activities.
We need moments of peace, a meeting with ourselves, to relieve the burden of obligations that exhaust our bodies and souls. We are also feelings, we are a world within each one of us, and this world needs respite.
Unfortunately, to make matters worse, there are many people who try to steal others’ peace with unpleasant attitudes, malicious comments, and often, gratuitous aggression. Sometimes we are directly affected by all this; other times, the environment around us becomes heavy because of situations that don’t directly affect us. In one way or another, it will be difficult for us to balance between our desire to be happy and the unhappiness sown around us.
Confronting those who only want to harm will be fruitless, as this type of person stoops to a level we cannot reach. Arguing with those who listen to no one but themselves will be useless, as we would waste our breath. Trying to prove our truths isn’t even necessary, as time takes care of putting everyone in their proper place. In other words, the best we can do to find peace is to ignore.
Ignore those who want us unhappy, who are incredibly annoying, who gossip incessantly. Ignore the bitter, words of discouragement, unsolicited advice. Ignore, aiming for the sought-after, urgent, and necessary peace.
That’s how we remain unbroken.
