The Washington Spirit entered Friday night’s game against the Orlando Pride with the opportunity to extend its winning streak to a club record and secure points at home before a three-game road swing.

It finished the night ruing more than one missed chance.

The Spirit (4-2-0) had its four-match winning streak snapped in a 3-2 defeat to the Pride at Audi Field. Playing with a woman advantage for the full 12 minutes of added time, Washington could not convert several opportunities for a late equalizer — including a shot by Ashley Hatch that rocketed off the crossbar.
